Call for Participation - Deadline January 11, 2009

The Society of Women Engineers invites you to participate in the year’s largest and most comprehensive career advancement and professional development event for women engineers and technicians – WE09.

Subject matter is needed for various audiences, tracks and formats as follows:

Audience

  • Collegiates and recent graduates
  • Emerging technical leaders
  • Experienced technical professionals
  • Seasoned technical leaders, managers, educators
  • Executives and entrepreneurs

Tracks

  • Professional Development - Help women engineers advance in their careers and find ways to successfully find the balance between personal and professional demands.
  • Innovation in Technology and Business - Share insight on new and emerging technologies as well how to leverage these technologies in the workplace.
  • Career and Life Transition - Coach women engineers for the career transitions that occur in entering, advancing through and temporarily leaving the workforce.
  • Careers in Academia and Government - Prepare women for future engineering post-graduate, faculty and academic administrative positions, as well as government positions.
  • Inclusion and Cultural Awareness - Drive the positive impact that diversity and inclusion can make upon teams, projects, and organizations.

Submission

For submission you must provide:

  • Title of Presentation
  • Short Abstract (100 words or less)
  • Intended audience
  • Short Biography (75 words or less) including current job title, responsibilities, previous position, special awards or recognition, and educational background. If there is more than one speaker, information for EACH panelist must be provided
